HTML

HTML, for those of you who don't know stands for Hyper Text Mark-up Language.

If your new to the web and are interested in how web pages are build but are afraid of the likes of ASP and PHP, like I was initially, then you may find this useful.

With the advancements of various numbers of programming and scripting languages on the Internet you will find very few which contain purely HTML and nothing else. At the very least there will be a small amount of JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

In the code section I will only be covering a number of key TAGS and their usage (HTML 4.01 Specification).

MY EXPERIENCE WITH HTML

This is how I started on the web using a 486 DX2/66 PC and HoTMetaL Pro. After creating an on-line CV and being contacted by a company to develop web sites using HomeSite (v2.5) I never looked back.

Switching from WYSIWYG to coding HTML was tough work back then, but it doesn't even come close to the sites I develop now.
